Leadership Africa USA

History

Leadership Africa USA (LA USA) was officially incorporated as a non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c) (3) non-governmental organization in 2006 to tackle the broad consequences of alienation among African youth. Since 1992, Leadership Africa USA’s organizers have been working in Africa with local partners to address two critical educational issues --- re-establishing a culture of learning and promoting access to quality education for a generation of African students. While these education initiatives are continuing, Leadership Africa USA’s primary focus is to impart leadership skills among Africa’s youth in conflict affected countries. Leadership Africa USA has a proven track record with successful leadership development programs in South Africa, Nigeria, Liberia, Kenya and Senegal. Leadership Africa USA recognizes the daunting task African leaders face in trying to overcome a ground-swell of discontent and we believe that youth leadership must be part of the solution.
