Goals
The “leadership factor” is often overlooked in peace-building and post-conflict reconstruction. The heart of our work is in bringing this “leadership factor” to those who can make the biggest impact on a country’s future – its children. In providing African youth with leadership education, we hope to meet the following goals:
• |
Transform attitudes by encouraging young Africans to prioritize peaceful conflict resolution; |
• |
Generate a consensus among stakeholders on effective leadership principles for African youth; |
• |
Promote public-private partnerships between strategic players interested in achieving sustainable peace and democracy; |
• |
Communicate the development link between leadership, conflict resolution, and sustainable peace.; |
Objectives
To meet our goals, we tailor our programs to meet the following objectives:
• |
Address issues that are immediately relevant to African students and youth, such as quality education, employment, and community involvement; |
• |
Enhance self-confidence, skills, and competencies; |
• |
Encourage the participation of young people in effective decision making; |
• |
Address the specific needs of girls, who are often under-represented in decision-making processes; |
• |
Meet the needs of ethnically and religiously diverse communities. |
